Macon's New Year's baby makes early appearance | News
Bibb County's first baby of 2014 took less than 90 minutes to make his appearance.
"I'm just so happy he's finally here," said mom Crystal Harris. "Everyone was cheering, happy and clapping. I was like, yes we did it."
Harris expressed her joy after giving birth to Rodney Arness Johnson III.
He was born at 1:28 Wednesday morning.
Little Rodney weighs 5 pounds, 15 ounces and he's a little more than 18 inches long.
The new year's baby is named after his father, but his parents say they'll call him R. J.
Little Rodney is their first child.
"Oh my God. I hope I'm a good mom," said Harris. "I should be."
Dad Rodney Johnson Jr. said, "When I found out he was going to be a New Year baby, it just made things even more exciting. I'm happy. Very happy."
The parents received a few gifts from the hospital to welcome the baby.
