Bibb Sheriff's Office investigates inmate death | News
While serving the afternoon meal, 34-year old William Giles, III appeared to be sleeping in his cell, but he was found unresponsive when the staff attempted to wake him. Deputies and nurses from Correct Health, Bibb County Corrections' health care provider, provided medical services, but the inmate was pronounced dead at 5:45 p.m.
Coroner Miley says an autopsy will be done on Monday to determine the cause of death, but investigators say there are no obvious signs of foul play.
Giles was arrested on October 16, 2013 for three counts of aggravated assault, criminal attempt to commit felony and arson in the first degree.
