Old City Flower Show runs till Wednesday at First Presbyterian church. | News
Friday flower-arrangers from 14 churches put the creations together for the festival, which is in its third year.
This winter it's at the First Presbyterian church in downtown Macon.
The show runs Saturday through next Wednesday. Elaine Schmitt says it started as a way for congregations in Central Georgia to get together and have an event.
"We came in and they showed us all of the places in this great wonderful old church that we could do flowers, so then each church chose an area they wanted to do, Schmitt said. Probably if we started adding up there would be hundreds of thousands of flowers that will all come together."
It is free to go in and look at all of the arrangements.
The church is open for the flower festival everyday from ten until four, however on Sunday those hours switch from one until four in the afternoon.
First Presbyterian is in downtown Macon right across from the Grand Opera house.
