Four committees will oversee the Macon-Bibb government.
The committee on committees decided the new government should have four standing committees and that five commissioners should serve on each.
The committee on committees consists of Mayor Robert Reichert, and commissioners Bert Bivins and Gary Bechtel.
The committees are Operations and Finance, Economic and Community Development, Public Safety, and Facilities and Engineering.
The members are expected to pick the chairs and co-chairs next week.
Operations and Finance Committee: Gary Bechtel, Elaine Lucas, Virgil Watkins,Larry Schlesinger, Scotty Shepherd
Economic and Community Development: Al Tillman, Ed DeFore, Lucas, Watkins, Schlesinger
Public Safety: Mallory Jones, Lucas, Watkins, Schlesinger, Shepherd
Facilities and Engineering: Bechtel, Tillman, Shepherd, Jones, DeFore
Reichert said the aimed to let commissioners serve on at least two committees and some on three.
"I think we managed to get everybody assigned to a committee that oversees the area that they were interested in," he said.
"I thought we did the best we could to include everybody, to spread everything out," said Bivins. "I'm hoping it's going to work well and I hope everybody accepts the decisions that were made."
The committees will meet on the second and fourth Tuesdays, with a work session at 5 p.m.
The commission meets on the first and third Tuesdays with a pre-commission meeting at 5 p.m. and the commission itself at 6 p.m.
