Rain causes fallen trees, car accidents

As we continue our weather coverage tonight, you've been tweeting and posting on our Facebook about fallen trees and power lines down all over Bibb County.

It all started on Wesleyan Drive where frosted tree tops lined the road.

It led to a neighborhood without electricity for hours because a pine tree collapsed on power lines.

I talked to residents who relied on their fireplace for warmth.

It took more than four hours to clear that road.

After several attempts, crews were able to saw the tree and release the power lines trapped underneath.

While this was happening, just down the road on Rivoli Drive, an 80-foot-tall pine tree tumbled onto a house.

The garage area was damaged, but there were no injuries.

The homeowner was not there when the crash happened.

Trees aren't the only dangers out there. Slick roads can mean more accidents.

Off Gray Highway, a car collided with a state patrol car. That dodge swerved and knocked into a light pole.

If you see accidents, storm damage, and dangerous conditions, make sure to let us know.
