Third arrest made in Lizella gun store heist

Bibb sheriff's deputies arrested a third suspect Tuesday accused of breaking into Classic Firearms, 5854 Columbus Road, in Lizella on Nov. 21.

Burglars broke into the business stealing more than 64 guns and rifles.

Investigators arrested Telvin Keon Jackson, 21, at around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday. The sheriff's office Special Response Team attempted a traffic stop of Jackson's mother's vehicle as she pulled into a gas station at Northside Drive and Tom Hill Sr. Boulevard, according to a sheriff's office news release.

Jackson got out of the vehicle and ran. Deputies caught him in the dumpster area of the Taco Bell at North Park Shopping Center.

Jackson was charged with burglary, theft by taking, probation violation, contempt of court, trespassing, and family violence. He is being held at the Bibb County jail without bond.

Previously arrested were Shamarko Treyvonne Newson Jr. and Joshua Dewayne Logan on Nov. 23.

Newson remains in Bibb jail without bond on charges including burglary, obstruction, manufacture, distribution, or sale of marijuana, simple battery, probation violation and a state court bench warrant.

Logan remains in jail without bond charged with first degree felony burglary.
