Macon woman wins $1 million in lottery | News
Shelia Dawson, 60, is $1 million richer.
She matched the first five numbers in Wednesday's Powerball drawing. She purchased the ticket from Discount Tobacco on Bloomfield Road.
The numbers were 1-17-35-49-54 and the Powerball number was 34.
"I thought I was dreaming at first," Dawson, 60, stated in a Georgia Lottery news release. "Surprisingly, I'm really calm," the maintenance technician stated. "I guess it just hasn't sunk in yet."
A mother of four, Dawson said she'll use the winnings to help her family. She also plans to purchase a new home.
