DA looking into Bibb County audit | News
Bibb County's District Attorney says he's looking into whether there was any crime connected to alleged improper spending by former school superintendent Romain Dallemand.
On Thursday, Bibb County's school board heard about an audit that said Dallemand spent more than $51 million without school board approval.
The audit does not say that any money is missing or that Dallemand personally profited.
Friday morning, DA David Cooke told 13WMAZ, "I'm aware of the audit and I'm in conversation with the proper officials. At this point it's too early to know if any laws were broken or if this is limited to policy violations."
The report indicates Dallemand broke some rules by committing millions in school money without board approval and allegedly coerced employees to go along with it.
We could not reach Dallemand for comment.
