News

Two people were arrested Wednesday charging them with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

Victims told authorities they spotted Rodney Lee Payne, 49, and Robin McCallum Jarriel, 41, on the deck of one of the victim's Macon trailer at midnight, March 8 on Central Street.

The victim attempted to close the gate on the property to keep the vehicle from leaving until deputies arrived, according to a Bibb County news release.

The driver drove toward the gate hitting it trapping a man under the fence, the news release states. When another man tried to free him, the driver put the truck in reverse and then in drive hitting him.

The men were not seriously hurt, the release states.

Payne and Jarriel were arrested by U.S. Marshals in the 6000 block of Columbus Road and the 1999 Chevrolet pickup truck they were allegedly in was confiscated, according to the news release.
