Armed robber injures clerk

A store clerk was injured after an armed robbery at Fastee Foods in Macon.

That's on Napier Avenue.

It happened around 6 Monday morning.

The robber took off with about $2,000 cash, according to the clerk, 33-year-old Sunita Varma.

"He asked me, open the register, I want to take money. I just opened it and he pushed me," Varma said. "He said, 'Just lay down,' and he showed me the gun."

Varma was taken to the hospital where she says she was treated for a sprained arm.

19-year-old Priyanka Patel was also working at the store at the time, but was not injured.

"He grabbed me [by the neck] and put a gun [to my head]," Patel said.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff's Office, the suspect was wearing a black and white Adidas jacket, with a ski mask and gloves, and white animal print sneakers.

Anyone with information on the case can call Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
