24 apply for Bibb Co. superintendent | News
The Georgia School Boards Association has received 24 applications for the Bibb County Superintendent position, according to Lynn Farmer, board member.
Eighteen applicants are from Georgia, and six from out-of-state. Farmer said several are current or former superintendents.
She did not know how many applicants, if any, were from the Bibb school district.
"GSBA will now review and rank the applications before presenting them to us in the next couple of weeks. No meeting date has been set for that yet," said Farmer.
She said the school board wants to remain transparent and at the next meeting will "determine how we will proceed in the selection process and how the community might have involvement."
Applications were due March 28.
Steve Smith has been interim superintendent since June 2013. The Bibb school board bought out Superintendent Romain Dallemand's contract in February of that year.
