Professors get "pied" for charity | News
Some professors at Mercer University saved face for a good cause.
The college's pre-health organizations hosted "Pie Your Professor" to raise money for charity.
Students paid a dollar each to give some of their favorite professors a pie in the face.
All of the proceeds went to the Jay's Hope Foundation, an organization that provides support to families suffering with childhood cancer.
The event went on this entire week and ended Thursday.
The goal was to raise $750.
Tony Economopoulos, a women's soccer coach at Mercer says getting "pied" was worth it.
"I think it's great that you have an organization like Jay's Hope, that helps families out with necessities, whether it's gas money, babysitting money, parks, trips somewhere, so I think it's great that this organization is around to help all those families in a time of need and a time of pain," he said.
The restaurant Chili's is also helping Jay's Hope.
If you eat at the restaurant tonight, 10 percent of the profit will go to the charity.
