Middle Georgia State opens new rec facility | News
Middle Georgia State College officially opened its new recreation center Monday.
The new center features everything from bowling to basketball.
Other features include a track, state of the art pool with a lazy river and energy-saving workout equipment.
Assistant Athletic Director James Hagler says the project started back in 2012 and cost $12.5 million to complete. It was funded through student fees, he said.
The new facility is not open to the public. It's only open to faculty and students who have paid the fees, even if they have already graduated.
The center is not fully completed, but should be done by this summer.
