Warning for animal restraint violation


Location:
1900 block Canterbury Road

A deputy was called out to the location at about 9:45 p.m. in reference to a fight. When he arrived he was met by two men who was complaining about their neighbor's pit bull. The men said the dog has been a problem in the neighborhood frequently running loose. While they were arguing with the dog's owner about the issue, the dog charged at one of them. One of the men then shot and killed the dog. No charges were filed and the dog's owner received a warning for failure to restrain her animal.

Location: 863 Lackey Drive, Tabernacle of Pray church

A deputy responded to the church in reference to a burglary. He met with a church member who said a rear window was broken out and someone took a power washer, speakers, mixer, CD recorder and a cutting board

Incident type: Robbery by force

Location: 1100 block of Spartan St., Macon

A deputy responded to the location at about 2:05 p.m. The victim told the deputy he was in his front yard when two men he didn't know came up to him and kicked him in both legs, took $15 out of his pocket and took his "Obama" phone.

Incident type: Disorderly conduct

Location: Riverside Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.

A deputy was dispatched to the location at about 6:30 p.m. in reference to a fight. He arrived and met with a man who said he was being chased with a machete. The victim and suspect were standing next to each other when the deputy arrived and both were "very intoxicated." The knife-wielding man was arrested and the machete was confiscated.

Location: 2400 block Chappell Street

The Sheriff's Response Team was dispatched to a vacant lot at the corner of Chappell and Ibex St. at about 10:15 p.m. in reference to a large crowd and illegal activity. When the SRT crew arrived, most of the crowd scattered. As investigators were talking to some of the remaining crowd, one of the deputies noticed a black plastic bag on the ground. The bag, and other bags found near the location, contained ziplock baggies with white powder, crack cocaine and electric scales. No arrest were make.

Location: 3825 Cathy Drive, Macon

A deputy was dispatched to the location in reference to two bulls in a woman's yard. She told the deputy that she tried to throw something at the bulls but the animals didn't move. Her dog ran at one of the bulls, but was kicked in the side. The dog seemed to be OK. The woman told the deputy that she was having an issue with her neighbors livestock coming into her yard.

Location: 1174 Ernest St., Macon

A deputy responded to the location to take a statement from a man who witnessed a house fire. The witness told the deputy that he was doing some work on a house when he noticed another man standing on the front porch of the house next door "doing something." The witness told the deputy that 20 minutes after the man walked away, he notice fire at the house.

Incident type: Aggravated assault

Location: Churchill at Helon Street, Macon

A deputy responded to the location in reference to shots fired. The incident occurred 3:19 a.m. The complainant told the deputy he was in the 2700 block of Montpelier Avenue when he noticed three men peeking around the corner at him. The complainant said one of the men was holding his pants in a manner suggesting he had a gun. The three men got into a vehicle and drove down Churchhill Street and the complainant followed them. When they got to the Helon Street intersection, two of the men began firing shot at the complainant's vehicle. He was not hit and his windshield was struck. Investigators found a bullet lodged in the backseat.

Structure fire


Location:
1274 Hardeman Ave., Macon

A deputy driving on Forsyth Road noticed dark smoke in the air and he discovered a structure fire. He observed a large pile of wood burning which had spread to a storage shed. He called the fire department and located the owner. The owner told the deputy he was unaware of the fire and that he gave the keys to the shed to a co-worker. The deputy noticed a generator in the burned debris with an extension cord running to the second level of the residence. The case was turned over to the arson squad.

Incident type: Suspicious fire

Location: 1170 North Beddingfield Drive, Macon

A deputy arriving at the location to assist the fire department met with a woman who said she was sleeping in her bed when she heard her car alarm. Her husband went to check and saw the vehicle was on fire. He called 911. The woman told investigators she believes someone set her car on fire, but she doesn't know who.
