Gov. Deal swears in Macon, Cherokee circuit judges | News
Judge Verda Colvin was sworn as a jduge in the Macon Judicial Circuit this morning by Gov. Nathan Deal Wednesday morning in Atlanta.
Colvin earned her law degree from the University of Georgia and lives in Macon.
She was recently appointed by Deal to take the seat of S. Phillip Brown, who retired.
Colvin is the first African-American woman named to the bench in the Macon circuit, which hears cases from Bibb, Peach and Crawford counties.
