Actor quits role in Gregg Allman film | News
Midnight Rider" lead actor quit the role as Gregg Allman.
William Hurt will not play Gregg Allman in the film adaptation of his memoir, "My Cross to Bear," Deadline.com reports.
This comes after a camera assistant died earlier this year while filming the movie on train tracks in Wayne County, Ga. The film crew was hit by a train.
A source close to the film production told Deadline they "were already looking to recast some roles."
Filming on "Midnight Rider" was suspended after the accident but was scheduled to resume sometime this spring in Los Angeles.
