Report: Allman wants movie about him stopped
News

Gregg Allman has reportedly asked the film director to stop production on "Midnight Rider."

The Guardian reports that Allman wrote a letter to film director Randall Miller, asking him, "as one human being to another, and appealing to you from my heart...not to go forward" with movie production on "Midnight Rider," a movie that was to be based on Allman's memoir, "My Cross to Bear."

The request came after a camera assistant died during the film's production on a train track in Wayne County, Ga.

Last week, Deadline.com reported William Hurt backed out from the lead role.
