Two men were arrested Monday morning following a bike theft in Lake Wildwood.

Bibb deputies arrested James Browne, 26, of Macon for allegedly taking the bike from the 300 block of Foxtail Drive

Also arrested was Bryan Dorough, 41, also of Macon. He was arrested for allegedly running Browne down with his vehicle and beating him up in an attempt to retrieve the bike, according to a news release from the Bibb County Sheriff's Office.

Dorough's wife, Ashley, said she saw Browne riding her bicycle as she was leaving her house Monday morning. She called her husband and he got into his vehicle and located Browne riding the bike in the 6000 block of Thomaston Road.

Dorough struck the bicycle knocking Browne off of it and then he got out of the vehicle and began striking Browne with his hands, witnesses told deputies.

Browne had minor injuries, but declined treatment, the news release states. He was charged with theft by taking.

Dorough was charged with aggravated assault with a motor vehicle.

Both were taken to Bibb County jail.
