A woman tried to rob a Family Dollar Wednesday night
News

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating a Wednesday night attempted armed robbery at Family Dollar.

It happened around 9:55 p.m. at the Rocky Creek Road store, according to a release.

Investigators say a woman approached the register, claimed to have a gun, and demanded money from the store clerk. The clerk and assistant manager fought the woman, who ran out of the store and drove off in a pickup truck.

The two employees who confronted the suspect had minor injuries and paramedics treated them at the scene. The woman did not take any money from the store.

The attempted robber is described as a female in her 40's, approximately 5 feet 4 inches in height, and weighing between 200 and 250 pounds. She had dark hair pulled up in a bun and was wearing a blue and white floral print tank top with blue pants.

She left the scene of the crime in an older model, white Ford pickup truck, with a wide burgundy or maroon stripe down the side of the truck. The truck also had a "disabled person" license plate.

Anyone with information is urged to call Macon Regional Crimestoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
