Bibb Sheriff's Investigators need your help finding a man accused of snatching expensive watches from unsuspecting store clerks.
According to a Bibb Sheriff's Office news release, on March 18, 2014, a man entered the Marks and Morgan Jewelry Store on Eisenhower Parkway and asked to see two watches. While looking at the watches, the suspect ran out the store with both watches without paying for either one. He was followed by store employees who witnessed him get into a red coupe and leave the scene.
The getaway vehicle also had a dent in the left rear and a bungee strap securing the trunk lid.
Two weeks later, a similar incident occurred at the Kay Jewelers on Riverside Drive. The suspect asked to see a watch from a sales associate, then ran out of the store with the watch. He is described as mid to late 20's in age, 5 feet 7 inches in height, slender build with brown hair.
The total value of the stolen watches is $2,900. The same suspect is believed to have committed both thefts and another watch theft in a surrounding county.
Both incidents are currently under investigation.
