Hundreds in Macon lose power in storms | News
At one point Monday evening, a strong line of storms knocked out power to as many as 1400 Georgia Power customers around Macon and in Jones County.
The area off Ingleside Drive was one of them. It experienced as many as 700 outages at one point.
People who live there told us they were doing the best they could to work around the darkness. As of midnight, Georgia Power's online outage map shows 680 customers in Bibb and parts of Jones County without power.
Most of them are in that Ingleside area.
The storms also took out a tree on Tucker Road. Many motorists had to turn around and find alternate routes while crews worked to clear the area. It took them about an hour to saw the downed tree and haul it away.
