Child injured in hit and run, Macon man arrested

Bibb County deputies arrested a 31-year-old Macon man after a hit-and-run accident Thursday night.

A 13-year-old boy was hit while riding his bike just before 8 p.m. in the 1700 block of Randall Road, according to a Bibb County Sheriff's Office news release.

The child was transported to the hospital where he was listed Friday morning in stable conditions.

The driver of the car drove off and authorities were given a description of a blue older model convertible Chevrolet Caprice. After hearing the "be on the look out" call, a deputy knew of someone with a vehicle fitting that description.

They found the car, with three male passengers, at a car wash in the 2600 block of Houston Avenue, according to the news release.

Deputies determined that Vince Carter Jr. was the driver during the accident, the news release states. He is also the owner of the car.
