YKK to double size of Macon plant | News
YKK AP America Inc. is planning to double the size of its residential window plant in Macon, the company stated in a news release Tuesday.
Construction is slated to begin in January 2015.
"In recent years, YKK AP has experienced an increase in product demand due to the recovering U.S. housing market," the news release states. "In addition to the growth in sales, the company expanded its product offerings to better meet the needs of the U.S. market."
YKK's plan is to relocate its production lines into a larger building on its Macon campus and add two new production lines dedicated to vinyl window and multi-layered glass production."
YKK opened its Macon campus in 1974. It currently employees 673 workers in its fastening and architectural products divisions, the news release states.
The news release does not state any information about increasing the number of jobs at the plant.
