Macon man wrecks car after being stabbed in chest | News
A Macon man is in stable condition at the hospital after being stabbed in the chest and crashing his car into a utility pole at around 1 a.m. Thursday.
Bibb deputies received a call for an accident with injuries in the 4200 block of Houston Avenue. When they arrived on the scene they found Freddie Lee Travis, 46, in his car with a stab wound to the chest, according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
Investigators determined that Travis was in a fight with Eddie Eugene Slatton, also of Macon, prior to the stabbing.
Slatton was booked into the Bibb County jail where he is being held without bond. He is charged with aggravated assault.
