The Coliseum Marriott hosted the Ballard-Hudson class of 1957. | News
For dozens of Ballard Hudson High School alumni, it was time to party like it's 1957.
The class of '57 celebrated 57 years since they graduated from what was then only black high school in Macon.
One alum says it was great to see some many familiar faces.
They also remembered their principal, Riago Martin who was principal the entire time Ballard Hudson was open. They say despite segregation at the time, Martin led them to success.
"He was very dedicated, very much a disciplinarian and he wanted his students to do their best, be their best, and he always looked out for them so that they could be their best," says alumna Bettye Tharpe.
They're planning to have Riago Martin included in the new Tubman African American History Museum when it opens.
They're also busy planning their 60th reunion in 2017.
