Two Macon businesses robbed Sunday morning

The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating two armed robberies that happened early Sunday morning, according to a press release.

At around 12:20 a.m., sheriff's deputies responded to an armed robbery at the Circle K on Romeiser Road, off of Eisenhower Parkway, near the MGSC campus.

Witnesses said a man with a black bag covering his hand demanded money from the cashier. He received an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot in an unknown direction. No one was injured.

Later, at the Flash Foods at 3889 Vineville Avenue, a man walked into the store around 1:00 a.m. also with a black bag over his right hand. He demanded money from the cashier, received an undisclosed amount of money and fled on foot.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Deputy Linda Howard says they are reviewing surveillance video, and are not able to determine if the two crimes are related at this time.
