Mercer University's TV station ready to broadcast
News

Mercer University's new television station will soon be airing local programming.

The Warner Robin's station WRWR moved into Mercer Village not long ago with a new name, WMUB.

The station was donated by former state senator Cecil Station Jr., and neurosurgeon Dr. Joe Sam Robinson.

The university hopes the setup could be completed by September.

They plan a local newscast and other original programming. Right now, however, the station is the base for sports programming.

WMUB's first original piece of programming will be a live broadcast of Mercer's opening football game on August 28.

Mercer University plans to add classes to the curriculum next year.

Currently, hired staff and freelancers run the station.
