'I Love Macon' sign placed downtown | News
The love for a better, brighter Macon is spreading.
A new sign symbolizing peace and progression went up downtown on Wednesday.
It's called the "I Love Macon" sign. The artist, Jamie Ragan, says it's shaped in the unofficial logo of the city of Macon.
She says building it took about a year. Grant money from The Knight Neighborhood Challenge and the I Love Macon Project helped pay for the sign.
It stands about seven feet tall at Daisy Park and Forsyth Street. Ragan says this sign will always be a part of her.
"Just to think that maybe one day I'll see somebody that I don't even know have their Facebook profile picture with my sculpture or somebody might get proposed to by the sculpture, that's just really big."
