UPDATE: Bond denied for alleged game store robbers

Two suspects in an armed robbery went before a magistrate judge in Macon Friday afternoon for their first hearing.

Javon Britton of Sacramento, Calif., was charged with armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Maryann Davis, also of Sacramento, was a passenger in Britton's car, and was also charged with armed robbery.

The pair are accused of robbing GameStop in Eisenhower Crossing Shopping Center on Thursday.

A judge denied bond for Britton and Davis.

An armed customer in Game Stop left the store after the robbery. Bibb County sheriff's officials say he fired several shots at Britton's green BMW causing it to hit a traffic island and blow out the tires. The suspects ran from the car and into a store where they were arrested.

The armed customer, Tim Dayne Jackson, was not charged with a crime.

"From what we looked at so far, it was an appropriate use of the firearm and he felt like he was trying to defend himself," Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said.

Sheriff's officials say Jackson followed the suspected robbers from the store to get their tag number, but felt threatened when he thought one of the them was reaching for a gun.

Lt. Sean DeFoe said they're investigating whether the robbery at Game Stop could be connected to another at Marshalls on Wednesday.
