Possible new roundabout on Eisenhower Parkway | News
A Macon-Bibb Committee voted in favor of building a roundabout at Eisenhower Parkway on Knoxville Road.
The Georgia Department of Transportation would pay for it, but the county would have to pay for maintenance and lighting.
Frank Patterson, the vice chairman of the Macon Water Authority, lives near the intersection and says the roundabout is needed for safety reasons.
"There have been several wrecks at this intersection, and as the homes were built in this area and the traffic has increased tremendously," Patterson said, "It's only a two-way highway. It's an ideal situation for a roundabout."
The roundabout would be about 4 miles west of Middle Georgia State's Macon campus.
