Inmates attempt to bring in contraband to the Jail from deceased grandmother's casket

Bibb County's sheriff calls it. "wicked."

Two inmates are accused of using their dead grandmother's casket to help smuggle marijuana into jail.

Henry Ison Rouse and Nekoase Antwan Vinson are charged with marijuana possession .and trying to take contraband into jail.

In a news release, the sheriff's office says it happened when the men were allowed a private viewing of their grandmother.

They say them men visited the Bentley Brothers funeral home in handcuffs and leg restraints and supervised by deputies.

But when they returned to jail, the release says,.guards found baggies of marijuana and tobacco, a lighter and a cell phone.

The sheriff's department says they suspect family members stashed the contraband in the casket.

They are still investigating.

In the release, Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said "This incident illustrates the audacity of this generation of jail inmates. To use the body of a deceased grandmother to hide drugs and other contraband is wicked."
