Possible Rape Investigated at Macon's Northeast High School
News

Bibb County school officials say they're investigating a possible rape at Northeast High School.

A school news release says the alleged rape happened on Thursday, Jan. 19.

"As this is an open and ongoing investigation, we cannot comment any further on the incident," the release says.

Bibb County's interim Chief of Police Stephanie Prater and Bibb School spokeswoman Alisha Allen-Carter have not returned our calls.

This comes the day after a Macon City Council member said two young men were arrested Monday for an alleged rape in a Bibb County school.

Henry Ficklin said it while speaking at a forum last night. By email, Macon police spokeswoman Jami Gaudet said the school system's campus police are investigating the case and referred questions to them.

When we asked Ficklin about the comment last night after the forum, he said he's not at liberty to talk about it.  He is a teacher at Southwest High School but did not say where the rape allegedly happened.

"I'm not privy to talk about that," said Ficklin.
