Fairy Tale Ball Raises Money for Nonprofit | News
Title (Max 100 Charaters)
A bit of magic, imagination, and a few favorite fairy tales came to life Saturday to raise money for a local nonprofit. It's a part of Rooms From the Heart's fairy tale ball. Kids came decked out in glitter, tiara's, and, of course, their dancing shoes. They got a chance to hit the dance floor with princesses, pirates, and other fairy tale favorites. The group raised money for Rooms From the Heart through a silent auction. The organization redecorates the bedrooms of critically ill children in the theme of their choice. The goal is to give them a room of their own that let's their imagination run wild, much like Saturday's fairy tale ball. "You get to play games, win prizes and all kinds of stuff," says Robert Davis, a Rooms From the Heart recipient.
"We wanted to show people that even in your darkest hour, when you have a child in the hospital, there are still people in the world that care, and still people that want to help give you hope," says Miranda Bryant. The group says it costs between $2 and $3 thousand to complete one bedroom, and all the work is done in a single day.
