State Rep. James Beverly on Anti-Poverty Effort
News

State Rep. James Beverly, a Democrat from District 139, stopped by Eyewitness News Mornin' less than a week after finishing his first full session as a Georgia lawmaker.

He talked to 13WMAZ's Stephanie Susskind and Randall Savage about his experience under the Golden Dome and talked about the bill he sponsored to fight poverty. That bill was enacted by the General Assembly.

House Bill 1265 creates a special board aimed at developing the area's most impoverished communities.

The Macon-Bibb County Community Enhancement Authority will target causes of "intractable poverty" and work as a unit to address them.

Rep. Beverly spoke about the Authority's infrastructure, funding, and how it will select target communities.
