Lizella Woman Wins $1 Million On Scratch Ticket

A Lizella woman is celebrating a win from the Georgia Lottery.

A lottery news release says 67-year-old Jackie Tingle won a $1 million prize playing the instant game $100 Million Cash Blast.

She took the cash option, so after taxes, that's about $487,830, the lottery says.

Tingle claimed her prize Tuesday at the Georgia Lottery District Office in Macon.  She purchased her winning ticket at the Flash Foods on the corner of College and Forsyth Streets in Macon.

The release says Tingle purchased the ticket while on her lunch break from her job as a legal secretary.

"I scratched it in the car," she said, according to the release. "I was riding, and my son was driving."  The pair pulled off to the side of the road.

Tingle and her husband, James, have no immediate plans for the windfall.  "I don't know yet, maybe a nest egg kind of thing," she told the lottery. "I think it's amazing."
