Greek Festival Comes to Town | News
Day 2 of the Greek Festival brought out many people from around Central Georgia to First Street in Macon.
The 5th Annual Greek Festival is hosted by the Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Church.
The festival took guests into the Greek culture with dancers and greek music.
They also offered a Greek Market with vendors selling antique items plus jewelry and accessories.
"You come out here and the dancing, comradarie, the food, the fellowship, it's just great. If you look around you, everyone is having just the best time possible that you could ever have," Steve Wilson said.
The food was the star of the event with delicious gyros, baklava and other yummy treats.
"It's grown every year. It's been a humbling experience for us to have so many Maconites come out to share in the Greek heritage and history with the food, music and the dancing. It's been wonderful for us," Henry Gossoulous said.
The money raised from the festival goes back to the church and to the Children's Hospital.
The festival runs through Sunday, October 7th.
