Lawyers Prep for Jolly's Murder Trial

Lawyers on both sides met today to discuss prepations for Damon Jolly's murder trial in Savannah later this month.

Jolly faces the death penalty for allegedly shooting Bibb County deputy Joseph Whitehead during a drug raid in March 2006.

Today, lawyers discussed which photos of the crime scene could be shown to the jury. Defense lawyers argued that four of the 12 were too "gruesome."

But Judge Tillman Self ruled that the photos could be used.

The lawyers also continued to discuss the system that will be used to pick a jury pool. Jolly's lawyers argue that changes in state law are unfair to defendants by restricting the jury pool.

Self said he would have a ruling on that later this week.
