A Macon City Council committee took the first step Monday toward turning the city-owned Terminal Station over to the Macon Transit Authority for $10 a month.
The Public Properties Committee also agreed to turn over some city owned property on Riverside Drive to the Urban Development Authority.
Councilwoman Elaine Lucas voted against the measure. Lucas said there were too many unanswered questions.
Lucas also said she believes city officials are giving away too many public facilities.
The Transit Authority has its offices in the Terminal Station. It also operates its downtown transit hub at the station. The Riverside Drive has been cleared in preparation for a multi-million dollar restoration project along the Ocmulgee River
The committee decision is expected to go before full council for consideration during its Nov. 20 meeting.
Councilman Rick Hutto, the committee chair, couldn't be reached for comment.
