Central Georgians Get Black Friday Deals On Thanksgiving Day | News
Walmart stores across the country started their Black Friday deals on Thanksgiving Day. Many items were on sale starting at 8 pm Thursday night and the electronics went on sale at around 10 pm.
13WMAZ went to the Walmart on Zebulon Road to try to catch shoppers who left the dinner table a day early to start their shopping.
Some of the shoppers said it was the slashed prices that brought them to the retailer.
"Paula Deen has an original 12 piece (pots and pans) and it is $100, and tonight she has a 24 piece for $100, we're getting it," said Mel Gates of Macon.
"I am trying to get an iPad for a low price, and some earrings and stuff and some toys for my little cousin and all that," said Amanda Moore of Macon.
Inside the store, shoppers told us there were lines in the aisles.
"It's like a hurricane through the desert. It's chaotic. Absolutely chaotic. There are people everywhere, and it's crazy. That's all it is, it's crazy," said Gates.
"It was chaos a bunch of people everybody having a good time, people falling on the floor, it was just madness inside but it was a lot of fun," said Shelley Wolfe of Macon.
Wolfe got necessities like a crock pot, a coffee pot, and many other items for under $60 total. And she said that makes it worth the wait.
"You get great deals. Yeah, it's a little crazy, but I mean, how many times a year do you get to do something like this?" said Wolfe.
