Macon narcotics officers seized more than $9,000 in marijuana after a traffic stop on I-16 in Macon.
According to a Macon police news release, officers stop a Chevrolet Malibu that was traveling east on the interstate Tuesday afternoon.
Investigators say officers smelled marijuana coming from the driver, 33-year-old Zakeius Battle of Wrightsville, Georgia.
They say Battle and his passenger, 29-year-old Kimberly Smith, had nine bags of marijuana weighing more than nine pounds with a street value of about $9,100.
Battle is charged with following too close and possession of marijuana with intent and Smith is charged with being present where drugs are kept or sold. Smith was released. At last check, Battle was still in the Bibb County jail.
