Title (Max 100 Characters)
The Christmas Spirit flooded the streets of Downtown Macon today.
About 100 entries -- dancers, bands, and various local groups-- made up the 53rd annual Middle Georgia Christmas parade.
Main Street Macon organized the event this year.
From the steady beating of drums to the sirens on fire trucks, floats made their way down Cherry Street and Martin Luther King Jr Blvd.
They made a turn at First St. and traveled down Mulberry St. exciting families and friends waiting to catch a glimpse of Santa.
Aeitra Stephens brought her son Tony to experience the parade for the first time.
"At first he was a little shaky but seeing all the families, and the kids, and the characters, and especially the candy. It made his experience great. I asked him if he was ready to go home, he said no," says Stephens as she laughs at her son.
The parade lasted an hour and 15 minutes.
