Power Restored to Mercer Village Lofts, Restaurants
Power has been restored to the Mercer Village area of intown Macon.
The area lost power tonight when a truck hit a power pole on Johnson Avenue.
Dustin Prater, manager of Jittery Joe's cafe on Montpelier Avenue, said Georgia Power told him it would take two to five hours to get the lights back on. The power went out around 5 p.m.
The power failure affected streetside restaurants, stores, the student Lofts at Mercer Village, and the newsroom of The Telegraph, located at Mercer University.
