Power Knocked Out in Central Ga. by Christmas Storms | News
Though the storms sweeping into Central Georgia over Christmas night weren't as bad as anticipated, almost 200 homes are without power this morning as a result.
Georgia Power spokeswoman Carol Boatwright tells 13WMAZ that crews are working to restore power to 188 residences from Hawkinsville to Macon and Milledgeville, even a couple in Dublin.
She says downed trees are the "biggest problem" with rain and strong winds continuing through the day.
Earlier Wednesday, Georgia Power estimated 5,400 customers were without electricity throughout the state.
