Cherry Ball Drops Rings in Macon's New Year
Thousands gathered in front of Terminal Station of Cherry St. in downtown Macon to ring in 2013 as only Macon could, with a Cherry ball drop.
The Cherry Blossom Festival's organizers also set up the New Year's Eve celebration. President Jake Ferro says the Cherry Ball is made out of steel and donated pink lights and takes two minutes to drop.
The event also featured fireworks behind Terminal Station, and music.
13WMAZ also spoke with Maconites waiting for 2013 about their New Year's Resolutions.
