Sheriff Seeking South Bibb Shooting Suspects

The Bibb County Sheriff's Department is looking for two people allegedly responsible for shooting a woman in the back in a car last week.

They're asking the public's help in locating Diana Gaberilla Kennedy and Demetrius Monterrell Scott, both of Macon.

Last week, 37-year-old Anita McDaniel told deputies that she was looking at cars at a used car lot on Pio Nono Avenue and asked for a ride from a couple that was also at the car lot.

She says the man, who was sitting in the back seat, demanded money from McDaniel.

When McDaniel refused, the man shot her in the shoulder. Then the couple dropped her off at a gas station between Pio Nono Avenue and Houston Avenue. Sheriff's Department spokesman says she was released from the hospital Monday.

On Tuesday, the sheriff's department said Kennedy and Scott are wanted for aggravated assault and armed robbery.

They describe Diana Gaberilla Kennedy as a 38-year-old light skinned black female, around 5 feet 1 and 161 pounds.

They say Demetrius Monterrell Scott is a 37-year-old black male, around 5 feet 8 and about 163 pounds.

The sheriff's department says they were last seen driving a 2003 Chevrolet Impala, possibly gold or tan. The tag is BRK0715.

Anyone with information on the case can contact the Bibb Sheriff's Office at 478-746-9441 or the Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
