Police Chief: Lt. Cotton Died from Enlarged Heart
Macon Police Lt. Mark Cotton died from a "cardiac event" caused by an enlarged heart, Chief Mike Burns said in a brief press conference Monday afternoon.
Late Sunday, Cotton, 49, was found dead at the Macon Police Academy where he was the training director.
He also served as the city's SWAT Commander.
After making his statement Monday, Burns did not take any questions.
No other details have been released at this time.
