After months of development, the Macon city and Bibb County governments have launched a new website to help residents track how 'penny tax' money is being spent.

By going to SPLOST.info, the public can also stay updated on the progress of projects funded by the special purpose local option sales tax and click through photos, read reports and learn about related public meetings.

That's according to a Bibb news release, which also states that the city and county plan to use Mayor Robert Reichert's and Chairman Sam Hart's social media accounts to push more information to the public and provide a forum to answer questions.
