Macon Civic Club Show Starts Wednesday
News

Members of the Macon Civic Club took part in their final dress rehearsal Tuesday night for a musical to benefit charities in Central Georgia.

This year marks the organization's 52nd annual music review, "Rolling on the River".

The production is a musical and comedy variety show featuring local talent.

Opening night is Wednesday at the Grand Opera House in downtown Macon.

The family friendly event works to raise money for 39 local charities.

Macon Civic Club member and Show chairman George Greer says the musical will run through Saturday.

Last year, he says the event helped raise $191 thousand.

Some of the charities that will benefit include Theater Macon, The Middle Georgia Heart Association, Jay's Hope and the Museum of Arts and Sciences.

The show runs Wednesday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. nightly.

For ticket information, you can contact the box office at the Grand Opera House at 478-301-5470.
