The 2012 Howard Football team held their awards banquet tonight and their keynote speaker is very popular with Bulldog fans none other than former Georgia running back Robert Edwards.
Edwards is a native of Washington County and former player of recent head coach David Cape. Edwards had a successful career at Georgia rushing for more than 2,000 yards in 3 years in the mid 90s. He was also a NFL first round draft pick in 1998. And as he mentioned, Edwards is currently the head football coach of Greene County High School where he took the Tigers to the playoffs last season for the first time in 6 years.
Howard graduates 16 seniors this year and inherits a new head football coach with former Tattnall front man Barney Hester.
