No Bond for Man Charged with Wife's Shooting

A Bibb County man accused of forcing his wife into the woods and killing her remains in jail.

A Twiggs County magistrate judge denied bond for 45-year-old Marcus Hoskins Friday. He remains in the Twiggs County jail.

Twiggs County Sheriff Darren Mitchum says Hoskins and his wife Hurley Hoskins were traveling home after visiting a relative in the hospital in Cobb County Wednesday.

Sheriff Mitchum says Hoskins pulled out a gun and forced her to drive to an area near the Bond Swamp National Wildlife Rescue.  He allegedly made her walk 50 yards onto a hiking trail, where Mitchum says, she was shot multiple times.

Thursday morning, Mitchum says Hoskins called the Sheriff's Office and confessed.  The sheriff described him as remorseful.

Marcus Hoskins faces several charges, including kidnapping and felony murder.  His correctional department record also shows several past convictions, having spent most of the last 26 years in prison.
